#9 Petter Engström: Creating the perfect hands-on solution for each project

If you're familiar with the saying "never judge a book by its cover," then our colleague Petter Engström from Sweden is the living example that this proves true: With a grin, he says of himself that with his six-foot height and many tattoos, he looks more like the tough Harley rider than a trained ski instructor and hobby gardener. In his professional life, he works as a sales engineer at PERI.

Der Panama-Kanal, die olympische Schwimmarena „Aquatics Centre“ in London, das Schloss Neuschwanstein. All diese Bauwerke sind den meisten sicherlich bekannt. Aber die wenigsten werden wissen, dass eine Firma aus dem bayerischen Weißenhorn maßgeblich am Bau oder an der Sanierung mit ihren System- und Ingenieurleistungen beteiligt war. PERI, gegründet 1969, ist einer der weltweit größten Hersteller von Schalungen, Gerüsten sowie Anbieter von Ingenieurbaulösungen und 3D-Betondruckverfahren. In über 60 Tochtergesellschaften arbeiten weltweit 9.400 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter daran, die Arbeit am Bau wirtschaftlicher, schneller und sicherer zu machen. Zugleich werden neue Technologien erforscht und entwickelt. So entstanden im Jahr 2020 die ersten gedruckten Wohnhäuser in Deutschland.
Im Podcast „Inside PERI“ stellen wir Kolleginnen und Kollegen bei PERI vor und wollen wissen, was sie bei PERI und auch außerhalb des Jobs machen, was sie täglich motiviert und wie sie selbst die Zukunft von PERI mitgestalten. Eben all das, was jeden der mehr als 9.400 Köpfe so einzigartig macht.

The Panama Canal, the Olympic swimming arena "Aquatics Centre" in London, Neuschwanstein Castle. All these buildings are certainly known to most people. But very few will know that a company from Weissenhorn in Bavaria was significantly involved in the construction or renovation with its products and engineering services. PERI, founded in 1969, is one of the world's largest manufacturers of formwork, scaffolding as well as a provider of civil engineering solutions and 3D construction printing processes. In more than 60 subsidiaries, 9.400 employees worldwide work to make construction more economical, faster and safer. At the same time, new technologies are being researched and developed. In 2020, for example, the first 3D printed residential buildings were created in Germany.

In the podcast "Inside PERI", we talk with different colleagues from all over the world. They talk to them about their role and their tasks within the company, what motivates them every day and how they help to shape the future of PERI. In other words, what makes each of them so unique.
